Celebrations, relaxation and expression of the soul, a joy forever
A cultural tour for you
Perhaps I have kept you waiting for the next blog, I certainly hope so:). We have visited Morocco in the meantime, we made a big road trip with many off road tracks and met lots of Moroccon people. I will tell about it in blog 8, be prepared! For now, keep to the subject of parties.
Spain is known for its parties. Foreigners probably notice this because of the large number of bank holidays during the year. They get disappointed trying to visit a store that is closed. And restaurants and other hospitality places could be closed as well. Especially in the “campo”, the countryside.
Other people say “they just keep on partying and that’s why their gross national product per capita is low.” There is a lot to say about that, but my story here is not to talk about economics and economy. Especially the people in the country live by the expression “Amistad y Comida”, which means that Friendship and Food” is what matters. Of course, without money you can’t afford food, so a certain basic amount should be available. They definitely take care of that, in fact many people have 2 or 3 small jobs to provide their income. Their happiness is really in enjoying food, family, friends and very important: Fiestas💃! They work to live in instead of live to work.
Always an occasion to celebrate
A lot of the parties/celebrations have a religious background. For example you have ‘San Antonio’ or ‘San Juan’, in which San refers to Saint. You have the celebrations dedicated to the cultural/religious background with the mores. The so called festes de Christians and Mores. But besides that there are the small family parties after the wine making, a kind of harvest celebration. Of great importance, also to us.
At our finca we celebrate a lot ourselves and dancing is an important part of it for me. We offer people the possibility of a tailor made party and even weddings are possible. Not the usual type, like in Ibiza or St.Tropez, but a special version surrounded by nature on an ecological farm.
Parties are very important to have relaxing moments and express yourself with singing and dancing. An escape out of seriousness, charging your battery in a very positive way. Next year we expect people from the Faroe islands to visit us. They love the combination of singing and dancing, I am really looking forward to it.
With our grown up children we will celebrate St.Nicolaas next month, a typical Dutch party, an original and good connection from Spain with the Netherlands.
Beside that you can use all your imagination to create smaller or bigger parties. The main ingredients are people, laughter, brotherhood, and feeling free to express yourself. There is always a reason to have a party, just to celebrate each other’s company!
Let’s have a celebration, the joy and juice for life!!!
Un abrazo fuerte de Mónica💃
